The Center for Humanities and Digital Research (CHDR) opened its doors last year for a for a new addition to the center to expand space and technological capabilities. In January 2020, CHDR was awarded a $193,736 challenge grant from the National Endowment for Humanities (NEH). The NEH grant, which requires UCF to contribute matching funds, will enable the expansion of a digital humanities collaboratory in UCF’s Trevor Colbourn Hall and update CHDR’s equipment to support collaborative research, digital preservation, digital access and public programming. With your generous donation, crucial equipment can be purchased to help enable CHDR to continue to pursue excellent partnerships with the community and to teach students to scan and preserve historical documents, build databases, and curate the stories from the past.
