Beth Rapp Young is Associate Professor in the Department of English at UCF. Her research focuses on Webster’s Dictionary, Johnson’s Dictionary (johnsonsdictionaryonline.com), linguistics, grammar and usage, and rhetoric and composition. She has published in Johnsonian News Letter, Dictionaries, Proceedings of the Linguistic Society of America, ATEG Journal, Academic Exchange Quarterly, and American Speech, and has presented widely on digital humanities methods applied to historical dictionaries. She earned her Ph.D. in English (Rhetoric, Linguistics, and Literature Program) from the University of Southern California (1995).
