Toyosi Ogunsola is a PhD student in the Texts and Technology program.
She studies digital behavior through the lens of individual differences, how the ways people differ from one another show up across digital environments, and how that understanding should inform design. This takes different interdisciplinary forms incuding how emerging media technologies, like AI systems and social media, mediate behaviour changes and decision-making in adolescents and young adults. Her work has been published in the International Journal on Social and Education Sciences.
She holds a Master’s degree in Emerging Media Design and Development from Ball State University. Previously, she has studied how personality traits and consumption values predict how people use the archiving/bookmark feature on Instagram. More recently, she studied how personalized AI agents impact decision-making, self-presentation, and digital identity management. In another work, I considered the bidirectional influence of users and AI agents to account for a reciprocal influence. I am also working on a study on how institutional dis(trust) predicts AI use amongst students.
Professionally, Toyosi has worked in UX research, advertising, content strategy, media, and communications. At UCF, in addition to being a research associate, Toyosi also serves a teaching assistant for the Digital Cultures and Narratives course.
