Ursula Lehmkuhl studied History, French, and Comparative Literature at Ruhr-Universitat Bochum and the University of Siegen, where she graduated with an M.A. in History in 1985. She earned her doctorate in Modern History in 1990. From 1993 to 1996, she was Assistant Professor of International Relations at Ruhr-Universitat Bochum. In 1998, she was appointed Full Professor of North American History at the University of Erfurt. She is currently Professor of International/North American History at the University of Trier, where her research focuses on transatlantic relations, digital history, and the history of North American foreign policy.
