Lori C. Walters

Research Associate Professor, Department of History

Lori C. Walters is Research Associate Professor of History at UCF and director of the ChronoPoints laser scanning lab located at UCF’s Institute for Simulation & Training. She teaches courses including Laser Scanning America’s Past, US Space History, Viewing America in the 20th Century, History of the Future, Cold War Homefronts, and US History 1939-1960. Her research applies laser scanning, virtual reality, and augmented reality to post-World War II historical topics, with particular interest in the history of the space program in Florida and the history of Cocoa Beach. She has received support from the NEH, NSF, Microsoft, and the State of Florida Bureau of Historic Preservation. She earned her Ph.D. in United States History/Public History from Florida State University (1998).
