Justin (J.M.L.) Whittington

J. M. L. Whittington is a doctoral candidate in the Texts and Technology PhD program at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. His primary research interests are sociopolitical phenomena of games and theme parks. Currently, he is working in developing the idea of an Appalachian game studies, in which rural, regional, and non-digital play experiences are elevated. His work has been featured at (inter)national conferences, including the Digital Games Research Association, the Cultural Studies Association, and the Appalachian Studies Conference.
